What You'll Do
ο· Supervise and manage all engineering activities (across multiple
disciplines) for assigned LANL projects or designated project phases.
ο· Plan, schedule, and direct complex engineering assignments in
accordance with DOE, LANL, and NQA-1 quality assurance standards.
ο· Interpret technical requirements, organize engineering tasks, and
ensure coordinated execution across design, procurement, and
construction interfaces.
ο· Provide engineering oversight for design development,
constructability reviews, and technical problem resolution.
ο· Lead multidisciplinary teams to develop design criteria, specifications,
and technical documentation in alignment with DOE directives and
LANL Engineering Standards.
ο· Review and approve engineering deliverables to verify conformance
with project scope, schedule, cost, and safety objectives.
ο· Support risk management, change control, and configuration
management processes.
ο· Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction
to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with established
baselines.
ο· Mentor and provide technical direction to engineering staff,
promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
What Weβre Looking For
Education and Experience
ο· Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited
college or university required.
ο· 12 years' experience
ο· Advanced degree preferred (M.S. in Engineering or Engineering
Management).
ο· Progressive, hands-on experience in engineering project execution
and design supervision, preferably within DOE, defense, or large
industrial/construction environments.
ο· Experience may include project design engineering, startup, field
engineering, or plant operations in complex facilities such as utilities,
process plants, or research laboratories.
ο· Prior supervisory or team-lead experience overseeing
multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
ο· Strong knowledge of DOE Orders, NQA-1 requirements, and LANL
Engineering Standards Manual.
ο· Proficiency with engineering design and project management
software (AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera P6, MS Project).
Preferred Qualifications
ο· Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
ο· Experience with DOE O 413.3B (Program and Project Management for
the Acquisition of Capital Assets).
ο· Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), Configuration
Management, and Quality Assurance programs.
ο· Demonstrated leadership in technically rigorous, safety-critical
environments.
ο· Active DOE "Qβ or DOD Top Secret clearance (preferred, not
required).
