We're Hiring: Instrumentation Engineering Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation Engineering Technician to join our team in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with hands-on experience in instrumentation systems and support for engineering projects.
POSITION: Instrumentation Engineering Technicians
LOCATION:Indianapolis, IN, United States
DURATION:24-months contract (Good likelihood of extension - depending on performance)
SCHEDULE: 9/80 Schedule On-site- Over a 2 week period, 9 days out of 10 – M-TH are 9 hour days – Friday worked is 8 hours, then every other Friday is a day off
Candidate Profile
- Experienced Technician: 3 years in electronics, aerospace, avionics, or related technical work.
- Hands-On Skills: Sensor installation (strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure transducers), wiring/routing, troubleshooting measurement systems.
- Gas Turbine Exposure: Background in turbine engines or power systems is a strong plus.
- Professional Maturity: Comfortable in structured workplaces, able to work independently or mentor juniors.
- Education Options:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering/Electronics/Aviation
- Military electronics/aircraft maintenance training
- Or 5 years of technical experience in lieu of degree
Ideal Backgrounds
- Engineering Technicians (Sr. level or seasoned contractors)
- 3–5 years in electronics, aerospace, or adjacent industries
- Comfortable with fabrication, sensor installation, and troubleshooting measurement systems
- Used to professional test environments (engine assembly, instrumentation labs, aerospace facilities)
- Military-trained Electronics/AMP Technicians
- Veterans with avionics, aircraft maintenance, or turbine systems experience
- Strong fit if they’ve worked with gas turbine power systems or instrumentation
- Associate/Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology or Electronics
- Candidates with degrees in mechanical, electrical, aviation, or engineering technology
- Hands-on lab or test cell experience is more important than purely theoretical backgrounds
- Experienced Aerospace/Power Systems Technicians
- Prior exposure to gas turbines, instrumentation sensors (strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, etc.)
- Comfortable with routing, termination, and troubleshooting in high-stakes environments
