The Front Desk Supervisor leads the daily operation of the Administrative Office at Taos Ski Valley, Inc., ensuring consistent, professional, and welcoming experience for employees, guests, managers, and supervisors. This role provides direction, training, and accountability to administrative staff and interns while overseeing the front desk operations, office systems, HR support functions, employee services, and cross-departmental initiatives.

 

The Supervisor partners closely with the Office Manager, Human Resources, and department leaders to keep administrative priorities aligned with resort-wide needs, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and strong leadership in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.


Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience preferred, ideally in an administrative, HR, hospitality, or resort setting.
  • Strong knowledge of general office procedures (correspondence, filing, records, data entry).
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, delegate, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to coach, train, and give constructive feedback.
  • Sound independent judgment, with the ability to resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to quickly learn UKG, SiriusWare, Jotform, and Teams.
  • Excellent phone etiquette; able to track radio traffic while on calls or in-person.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to safeguard confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Notary certification, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Resort/ski operations knowledge and bilingual skills preferred.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
    • Winter schedule: Wednesday – Sunday.
    • Summer schedule: Monday – Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Winter Season

  • Lead ticketing and pass operations: F&F ticket loading/reservations, drawer closeouts, season-pass processing, and mountain exchange letters.
  • Lead in-season and end-of-season staff parties.
  • Support SiriusWare reporting, pass benefit/refund administration, safety meetings, W-2 distribution, monthly inventory, and peak-period coverage.

Summer Season

  • Lead ticketing and pass operations.
  • Lead planning for Summer staff parties & department events, including logistics, vendors, and scheduling.
  • Support Taos Store operations, internships/apprenticeships, local recruitment events, and peak-period coverage.

Year-Round

  • Lead applicant tracking, background checks/MVRs, I-9/onboarding support, lobby staff resources, nametags, mail/mailbox administration, and office/recycling upkeep.
  • Support recruitment partnerships, J-1/H-2B and hiring program administration, new-hire training, and other cross-department/leadership administrative needs

Leadership & Supervision (Support, in partnership with Office Manager/HR)

  • Supervise, train, coach, and schedule administrative staff and interns; delegate workload and monitor performance.
  • Serve as a resource for complex guest, employee, or operational issues; foster a positive, accountable team culture.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and hiring/onboarding of Admin Office staff.
  • Escalate staffing, performance, or operational concerns to the Office Manager and HR in a timely manner.

Office Operations (Support)

  • Oversee front desk coverage, opening/closing, phone system, voicemail, and visitor/employee assistance.
  • Maintain office, kitchen, and bathroom supply inventory; oversee printers, scanners, fax, scales, and Sharp equipment, coordinating repairs with IT/Facilities/vendors as needed.
  • Keep the lobby, mailroom, and shared spaces clean and welcoming; manage conference room scheduling.

HR & Employee Support (Support)

  • Assist with onboarding, rehire processing, and employee data updates in UKG (transfers, status changes, rate increases).
  • Coordinate Verified First background screenings and communicate results to HR/hiring managers.
  • Provide UKG and timekeeping support to employees and supervisors.
  • Administer employee perks (domestic partnerships, F&F tickets) and recognition programs; assist with unemployment claims.

Systems & Process Improvement (Support)

  • Maintain SiriusWare and Jotform data accuracy for pass sales and staff tracking.
  • Develop and document standardized office procedures; identify and implement efficiency improvements.

Cross-Departmental Coordination (Support)

  • Serve as a communication point between the Administrative Office and other departments.
  • Support resort-wide projects, employee initiatives, and peak-period/event staffing needs.

Work Environment

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. operates in a high-altitude environment; this role may involve travel on snow-packed or icy terrain and exposure to cold or changing weather. Full-time, year-round position with a Wednesday–Sunday winter schedule and Monday–Friday summer schedule; evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs.
