Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education, Principals
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) shall, under the supervision of the District Director of Special Education, consult with and provide support to the Brimfield, Brookfield, Holland, and Wales School Districts in servicing their student population. The BCBA will have an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the methodologies and assessments for social emotional, therapeutic, and behavioral skills. The BCBA will conduct formal skill assessments and functional behavior assessments to develop individualized plans. They are also responsible for the support of instructional and behavioral programs and curriculum modification utilizing data analysis to address behavioral and social emotional needs of students in diverse settings. The BCBA is responsible for the support of and ongoing training for ABA paraprofessionals and supervision of registered behavior technicians to ensure programming integrity. Support will also include ongoing collaboration with parents, staff, and community providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments (FBA, FA, Behavioral Assessment) and provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results
•Develop measurable goals and objectives on student-specific plans including IEPs and 504 Plans
•Complete required data collection processes and documentation including IEPs, 504 Plans, Behavior Intervention Plans, and progress reports
•Participate in student-related Team meetings, including but not limited to IEP Team meetings, Section 504 Team meetings, and Student Support Team meetings
•Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and mandated timelines
•Collaborate and create student-specific curriculum and instructional materials
•Provide direct instruction in areas identified on student-specific plans including related academic skills, social-emotional skills, related adaptive functioning, behavioral skills and curriculum access
•Provide direct staff support, coaching, and modeling for behavioral supports, strategies, and interventions
•Coordinate the provision of student services delivery schedules with educators and related service providers
•Consult and coordinate with related service providers, school psychologists, school adjustment counselors, school guidance counselors, and school psychologists on student-specific programming
•Engage in frequent and ongoing communication with parents
•Conduct observations for the purpose of providing appropriate classroom support strategies, monitoring data collection, and reviewing the implementation of accommodations and/or modifications
•Coordinate and monitor the provision of social skills programming for identified students
•Attend professional development and conferences to advance competencies and ensure implementation of culturally sustaining practices
•Provide direct support for a multi-tiered system of supports, the Districts’ Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plans, and bullying intervention plans, and the Districts’ Restraint Implementation and Prevention and Behavior Intervention Plan
•Maintain QBS Safety Care certification
•Provide professional development to district paraprofessionals and educators
•Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•BCBA, LAB
•Preferred Additional DESE License: Moderate Special Needs, ELA, Reading Specialist
•Preferred at least 2 years of experience
