In-depth knowledge of VLAN's, layer 2 and layer 3 switching, and routing protocols.
5 years experience with firewalls, routers, switches, security auditing, VPNs, remote access, and overall network design.
Excellent Organizational Skills
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the Architecture Committee and Security Architect on all design reviews and approvals.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) strongly preferred
Other relevant certifications (CompTIA Network , Security , or equivalent) considered a plus
Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or higher may be accepted in lieu of equivalent experience or formal education, at the discretion of management.

Functions
Area of Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of installed routers and switches. Installs and configures new network routers, switches and access points. Performs all maintenance on router and switching equipment and performs troubleshooting steps for all system issues.
Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes and service records. Monitors and tests network performance, provides network performance statistics and reports and works with Network Engineer Architect on the implementation of advanced network technologies and design techniques into the production environment.
Lead the design, scheduling, and configuration of all network equipment refresh projects, including responsibility for budgeting specific portions of the projects, with review of the Network Engineer Architect and Architecture Committee
Configuration and maintenance of all DHCP scopes as well as design and create all IP schemes for the system. Responsible for planning, configuration, deployment, and support of the system wide LAN WAN infrastructure.
Install, support, and maintain wireless networks throughout all Tanner facilities. Design wireless networks with supervision or review of the Network Engineer Architect or Manager. Review and analyze all wireless scans for proper coverage and issues. Install, maintain, and support UPS power systems in relation to direct connected networking equipment. Ensures that all systems are monitored and tested regularly according to a set maintenance schedule.
Collaborates closely with the Architecture Committee to review, present, and obtain formal signoff on all proposed network designs, configurations, and infrastructure changes. Ensures all design proposals align with established enterprise standards, scalability goals, and long-term architectural strategy.
Works in coordination with the Network and Security Architects during all design, implementation, and maintenance phases to ensure that network designs incorporate security best practices, comply with organizational policies, and align with the overall cybersecurity roadmap.
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
