As a MRI Technologist II, you will plan, coordinate, supervise, and carry out the activities of the MRI area. Work is carried out in an independent, professional manner with minimal supervision. -Demonstrates competency in all neuro, body, MSK and MR Angiography scans with the exception of Cardiac MRI and Breast MRI. -Competent on all scanners at all THS facilities. -Demonstrates competency in the use of pressure injector. -Demonstrates competency in the use of MRI compatible patient monitoring system and medication pump. -Competent in the performance of Breast MRI. -Competent is the use of DynaCad for Breast and Prostate MRI.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Education: Technical or Vocational school plus up to 2 years specialty training

Experience: One year of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

* HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (CPR)

* RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Qualifications

* Graduate of an approved 2-year Radiologic Technology Program.

* Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T)

* Minimum of one year experience in MR field

* A.R.R.T. Registered MRI Technologist

Functions

Area of Responsibilities

* Performs MRI procedures according to department protocol.

* Responsible for assuring routine maintenance on equipment is performed according to department protocol.

* Responsible for QA QC activities as directed.

* Responsible for individual continuing education to maintain registry.

* Demonstrates competency in patient care according to the age of the patient and population served.

* Explaining the MRI process to patients and ensuring the patients comply with all safety standards.

* Positioning patients to capture clear images of the correct area of the body.

* Placing and removing IVs and catheters for the MRI contrast process.

* Monitoring patients during scanning and maintaining patients' records.

* Monitoring MRI equipment functions.

* Ensuring quality imaging for Physicians to provide accurate diagnoses.

* Recognizing abnormalities and irregularities in images.

* Recognizing abnormalities and irregularities in images.

* Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient's needs.

* Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development.

* Demonstrates understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients (age and diagnosis).

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

* Demonstrates competency in the performance of Breast MRI

* Competent on the use of DynaCad software for Breast and Prostate MRI

* Has passed the MRI registry

Compliance Statement

Effect usually confined within the organization. Most of work not subject to direct verification or check. Regularly works with some confidential data such as account, salaries, patient medical records, which if disclosed might have adverse internal or external effects.
