Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for an Optometrist:

An optometrist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of vision problems and eye diseases. They are trained to provide primary eye care services, including prescribing corrective lenses, diagnosing and managing eye diseases.

Requirements

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and eye health.
• Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems.
• Diagnose eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
• Prescribe medication for eye infections, allergies, and other eye-related issues.
• Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including the use of eyewear, contact lens hygiene, and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
• Keep accurate and detailed patient records.
• Stay updated with advancements in optometry and attend continuing education programs to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
• Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and other healthcare professionals.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and manage various eye conditions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution
• Pass the national board examination
• Active state optometry license
• Proficiency in computer-based skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills
