Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer
- Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation
- Responds to co-worker inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems
- Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals
- Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems
- Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups
- Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication
- Replaces defective or inadequate software packages
- Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction
- Troubleshoot issues that arise with current systems and perform needed adjustments
- Document new tasks needed to perform job duties and improve current documentation
- Perform network maintenance with wiring and connections for network and attached equipment
- Vocational degree in Information Technology, certification such as CompTIA A or Net , or 2 years' IT experience
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to manage projects independently
- Ability to multitask all levels of operations and daily tasks
- Strong communication and prioritization / time management skills with the ability to support the IT needs of office personnel and production facility (computer / tablet / phone / networking equipment setup and maintenance)
- IP Camera and VOIP experience preferred
