Summer 2026 – Software Developer Internship Details

The Summer 2026 Internship Experience is a full time position June 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026. All interns will be based out of our main location in Parsons, Kansas. Anticipate the possibility of employer paid travel to project sites, events, and trainings during the internship.

Position Summary: The IT Intern assists with providing software and network support, training and troubleshooting to end-users as well as assisting with routine maintenance of IT systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose hardware and software problems as needed.
  • Train staff as needed on hardware and software use.
  • Use the IT Help Desk request system to document, prioritize, and track requests.
  • Install and configure new computers and telephones.
  • Repair and upgrade PC or mobile device hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate complex information.
  • Proficiency with multiple productivity software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, G-Suite, etc.)
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
  • Experience managing workload with project scopes, task lists, and other tools.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, or methodologies to perform tasks.

Education and Education and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) with 2 years of additional schooling and/or training.
  • Enrolled in a college program with an IT focus.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of Engineering Intern, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
