Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Asset Management IT team. The ideal candidate brings deep alternative asset management firm expertise across front and middle office operations and has experience supporting complex workflows for multi-asset and alternative strategies including public, private credit, and structured products.

Key Responsibilities

·        Act as the in-house expert, advising investment, operations, compliance, portfolio management, and Asset Managers on IT solutions and enhancements tailored to alternative asset classes.

·        Serve as a liaison between business units and technology teams and clearly and concisely communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

·        Gather deep understanding of the Front Office / Asset Management team’s responsibilities, business processes, and role within the broader firm, and how these translate into our IT processes, logic, data sources, and integrated application landscape.

·        Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, workflows, and data models as we build a Front Office / Asset Management platform to serve various Front Office/Asset Management groups.

·        Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements for delivery within agile and/or hybrid model.

·        Write, review, and enrich user stories and epics as needed to support backlog refinement and grooming.

·        Dive into our data, reviewing existing processes, design data migration plans, and test/validate data migration .

·        Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing internal Front Office / Asset Management systems.

·        Monitor data quality metrics and implement remediation strategies.

·        Work with third-party administrators, custodians, and internal systems to ensure seamless data integration and reconciliation.

·        Work with internal app dev teams to help build integrations needed with various systems.

·        Interface with internal data engineering teams and external vendors for accurate market data, financials, and analytics integration.

·        Train end users and create supporting training materials as needed.

Education

·        Bachelor's degree in finance, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.

·        Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

·        10 years of experience in hedge funds, private markets, or multi-asset strategy firm.

·        Strong understanding of alternative investments, including private credit, structured products, hedge funds, and derivatives.

·        Familiarity with credit-specific Front Office / Asset Management, compliance, and operational workflows.

·        Experience in Charles River Private Market product and certification or official training is a plus.

·        Experience working with WSO and portfolio accounting systems (e.g., Geneva, Investran) is a plus.

·        Knowledge of private asset lifecycle, trade settlements, and data flow from front to back office.

·        Proficiency with SQL, XML, and experience integrating vendor products with in-house systems, fund administrators, and data providers.

·        Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in lean or high-growth teams.

Technical Skills

·        Experience writing SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.

·        Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio or equivalent.

·        Experience with RESTful APIs, data flows, and system integration concepts to support technical discussions and solution design.

·        Experience with large data sets, including analysis, transformations, and comparisons; familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau is a plus.

·        Proficiency in modeling business processes (e.g., BPMN) and analyzing data using SQL, Excel, or BI tools to support decision-making.

·        Direct experience with Azure DevOps/Boards.

·        Experience with Agile principles, Scrum ceremonies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and velocity tracking.
