What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Intern position at Tanimura & Antle?
The Role: Under direction of the Director of Logistics, the Transportation Intern will assist and support the Transportation Planning Team with the day to day operations.
Location(s): Salinas, CA
Areas of Responsibility:
- Review and update the Customer Profiles
- Prepare/Print invoices (validate BOL's, lumper receipts, and other pertinent documents).
- Assist with POD requests from Sales/Carriers.
- Submit BOL requests. Forward to the carriers/drivers for missing paperwork.
- Run no show report. Review and identify any loads that were missed from the previous day. E-mail carriers/sales/logistics.
- Distribute e-mails to carriers/shipping/logistics for all GCC's/Kroger/Markon loads.
- OTD Report/Analysis: Create a report showing OTD by carrier, OTD percentage, and identify top performers by delivery performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills
- Great attention to detail
