What are the responsibilities and job description for the Morning/Early Afternoon Kitchen Assistant & Dishwasher (Part-Time) position at TANGO Argentina Food?
We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant & Dishwasher to join the TANGO kitchen team. This role supports our chef/owner in day-to-day kitchen operations — from prepping ingredients to keeping the kitchen clean and dishes moving. Some days you'll be elbow-deep in onions; other days it's mostly dishes. Either way, you're the backbone that keeps the kitchen running smoothly. This is a paid, part-time hourly position, with hours based on business needs.
What You'll Do
- Peel and prep ingredients — onions, eggs, potatoes, and whatever else is needed that day
- Assemble and plate dishes
- Coordinate with servers during service
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines
- Keep up with high-volume orders during peak times
- Wash dishes, pots, and kitchen equipment
- Clean and sanitize surfaces and tools throughout your shift
- Follow food safety and temperature guidelines
- Rotate stock and label/date stored food (FIFO)
- Help receive and put away deliveries
- Jump between tasks as needed — flexibility is a must
What We're Looking For
- Some kitchen experience required
- English required; Spanish is a plus but not required
- A team player who doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves for whatever the shift needs
Shift & Hours
- Part-time position
- Tuesday through Friday, 11AM to 3:30PM
- Approximately 18 hours a week
- Meals & drinks are provided
