What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian Nights position at Tandem Solutions LLC?
Tandem Solutions is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness for faculty, staff, students and parents, at schools within the Nelson County School Distric. By performing all steps of cleaning and disinfecting you will be an integral part of building brighter, cleaner, futures.
The essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for dusting all surfaces including high and low surfaces and ledges
- Responsible for cleaning all glass and windows
- Responsible for disinfecting all vertical and horizontal surfaces including desks, chairs, etc.
- Responsible for removing trash from all areas and placing in appropriate collection containers
- Responsible for vacuuming, dust mopping and damp mopping
- Responsible for cleaning up after sporting events including bleachers and outdoor fields
- Responsible for office, cafeteria, and restroom cleaning
- Responsible for ensuring that designated areas of facilities are secured
- Responsible for ensuring all common areas are cleaned and orderly
- Responsible for ensuring that all janitorial areas are clean and orderly
- Properly mixes and uses all chemicals according to department standards and labeling guidelines
- Interacts professionally and courteously with everyone
- Addresses any concerns or issues related to cleanliness promptly and effectively
- Assist facility leads as needed
- May assist with moving furniture in and out of classrooms and common areas
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
Basic Computer skills
Ability to work alone and set priorities.
Ability to follow simple oral and written instruction.
Ability to use / learn various machines and equipment
Janitorial / Housekeeping experience desirable but not required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Typical physical demands include ability to perform duties while standing or walking for majority of day, ability to lift to 50 lb.; ability to stoop, stretch and lift while performing duties. Ability to perform functions while walking and standing majority of workday. Ability to climb and work on stairs or bleachers. Incumbent may be exposed to hazardous chemicals in the work environment. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Incumbent will be required to work at any facility and be responsible for own transportation.
