Hotel Tristan is a boutique lifestyle hotel located in the East Garden District of Pensacola, Florida, designed to blend the city’s historic character with modern hospitality. Inspired by the legacy of explorer Tristan de Luna, the property will offer an elevated guest experience centered around leisure travel, events, and destination-driven stays in a walkable downtown setting. The hotel will feature 121 guest rooms, positioning it as a key addition to Pensacola’s growing hospitality and tourism landscape.

Director Of Sales Hotel Tristen

Reports To: General Manager

Salary: $75,000-90,000 annual Bonus Eligibility

Position Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for driving total hotel revenue through strategic leadership of sales, marketing, and market positioning efforts across all business segments, including group, transient, and catering/event.

This role partners closely with Revenue Management and Marketing to optimize pricing, distribution, and demand generation, ensuring alignment with budget, forecast, and targeted business mix. The Director of Sales plays a key role in positioning the hotel within the local market, building strong client relationships, and delivering consistent commercial performance.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate brings strong hospitality sales experience, operates effectively in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven ability to drive revenue growth and market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of the Annual Sales & Marketing Plan aligned with revenue goals and market opportunities
  • Drive total hotel revenue through strategic management of group, transient, and catering/event segments
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that increase awareness, demand, and market share
  • Partner with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Analyze competitive data, demand trends, and market conditions to inform pricing and business mix strategies
  • Direct and manage all sales activities to ensure achievement of revenue targets and performance goals
  • Prepare and deliver monthly forecasts, reports, and performance insights
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, accounts, and community partners
  • Represent the hotel in the local market through networking, events, and industry engagement
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure seamless execution of group and event business
  • Maintain accurate data and reporting within CRM, PMS, and revenue systems
  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, fostering accountability and performance
  • Maintain a visible presence within the hotel to support team members and client relationships
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel sales experience required; prior Director of Sales experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of hotel revenue drivers, segmentation, and commercial strategy
  • Knowledge of travel industry trends, local market dynamics, and economic factors
  • Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business
  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering sales presentations and proposals
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions quickly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Proficiency in hotel systems, including CRM, PMS, and revenue management tools

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Participation in meetings, events, and on-site client interactions

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $75,000-90,000 annual
  • Bonus eligibility tied to revenue performance metrics
