JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Food Server Assistant supports waitstaff in the restaurant by performing tasks like clearing and setting tables, refilling drinks, and assisting with guest requests. They play a crucial role in ensuring efficient service and a positive dining experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting tables with appropriate silverware, glassware and dishes
- Refilling water glasses, coffee cups and other beverages
- Removing dishes and resetting tables for next guests
- Ensuring the dining area is stocked with necessary supplies like napkins, condiments and silverware, centerpieces
- Assisting servers with tasks such as running food to tables, delivering drink refills and providing additional items
- Answering basic guest questions and assisting with their requests
- Cleaning the dining area and ensuring it is tidy and organized
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred
- Prior guest relations training
- Knowledge of proper food handling
- Strong written/verbal communications skills
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are required
- Proper food safety training and certification as described by law
