What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at Tandem Home Care?
Tandem Home Care is seeking an experienced Caregiver or CNA to provide non-medical in-home support for a male client living with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who values consistency, dignity, and building meaningful connections with clients and families.
Schedule & Hours
- 10–15 hours per week
- Primary days: Tuesday & Wednesday
- Occasional coverage: Monday, Thursday, or Saturday
Shift times:
- 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Occasionally, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, toileting, and incontinence assistance when needed.
- Meal preparation
- Light laundry
- Accompany and assist with doctor’s appointments
- Provide safe mobility support using a walker or rollator
- Engage in conversation and activities
About the Client
- Mobile with assistance
- Uses a walker or rollator
- Enjoys sitting on the porch, watching TV, listening to music, talking, and spending time with family
- Lives in a Christian-based household and may reference the Bible
Home Environment
- Clean, well-maintained two-story home in Simpsonville
- One large, calm, and very friendly indoor dog
- One indoor bird (caged)
- Comfortable with pets is required
Qualifications
- Previous caregiving experience required
- CNA preferred but not required
- Experience with Alzheimer’s and/or Parkinson’s care strongly preferred
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate
- Comfortable in a faith-based environment
