Remote Assessment Specialist
Tandem Behavioral Health is looking for a Remote Assessment Specialist. We are a growing community focused agency that is patient centered. We are looking for a Remote Assessment Specialist to add to our team that can contribute to providing excellent clinical care. Pay is based on each completed Assessment.
Licensed Eligible (Residents in Counseling/Supervisee in Social Work):
- $100 per Completed Assessment
- $50 per Completed Continued Stay Authorization
Fully Licensed LCSW, LPC, LMFT:
- $125 Per Completed Assessment
- $60 per Completed Continued Stay Authorization
This is a 1099 contractor position-so you will make your own hours. Many of our assessments are scheduled during the day, Monday-Friday. There may be some opportunities for weekend work, if desired.
As an Assessment Specialist you will:
- Complete Assessments, Treatment Plans, and Authorization Requests within 24 hours.
- Complete Continued Stay Authorization Requests

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required; license or license-eligible (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) in Virginia.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.
- Knowledge of Virginia Medicaid guidelines, DBHDS regulations, and clinical documentation standards or willingness to learn.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to ask probing questions, maintain control and structure during assessments.
- Ability to complete documentation in a timely manner to align with Virginia medicaid requirements (24 hours).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be comfortable with technology-using tele-health, electronic health record, and project management tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, administrative, and leadership staff.
- Experience with Addiction and Recovery Assessments
- Strong Clinical Documentation Skills
- Ability to Submit Timely Documentation
- Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it immediately
- Comfortable with using Technology
- Daytime availability
