Since opening in 2012 in Portland, Maine, we’ve grown into a community hub for locals and visitors alike. We roast our own coffee and have two cafe locations in Portland - our first is on Anderson St in Portland's popular East Bayside which operates as a tasting room to our roastery there with elevated coffee service and selections. The second is a James Beard-nominated bakery on Congress St in Portland's West End that has been featured in Bon Appétit.

This is a part-time position - Mon/Tues or Wed/Thurs 8am-4pm. This job reports to the production manager.

What You'll Do
- Order Preparation: * Prepare coffee labels and bags for daily orders.
- Accurately bag and package coffee products.
- Assemble, fill, and label shipping boxes for daily and subscription orders.
- Equipment and Workspace Maintenance: * Maintain and clean packaging equipment daily.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
- Inventory Management: * Restock production materials as needed.
- Notify the production manager when supplies are low.
- Product Handling: * Gather and package merchandise orders.
- Grind coffee for web and wholesale orders.
- Produce instant coffee boxes as required.
- Product Knowledge: * Stay informed about Tandem’s current offerings and general coffee knowledge to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and maintain a positive attitude, even during high-volume periods.
- Demonstrated ability to work swiftly and accurately, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and comprehension abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- Ability to handle 154 lbs and lift 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working near green coffee, nuts, and soy.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience working in a kitchen or bakery, preferred.
