Position Summary
The Cross-Trained Associate bridges Front and Back of House operations, ensuring smooth guest flow and consistent product execution. This role rotates between service and kitchen responsibilities, supporting peak shifts, breaks, and overall operational balance. The ideal candidate is adaptable, communicative, and passionate about both hospitality and craft.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service (FOH):
- Greet guests warmly and guide them through the ordering process.
- Operate the Toast POS system accurately; handle cash, card, and rewardredemptions.
- Execute steps of service, ensuring accurate order handoƯ and clear communicationwith the kitchen.
- Maintain dining room cleanliness and restock condiment stations.
- Proactively bus, sanitize, and reset tables.
Culinary Support (BOH):
- Prepare, portion, and cook menu items to recipe and presentation standards.
- Maintain proper food safety, temperature, and sanitation at all times.
- Support prep production, labeling, and rotation (FIFO).
- Execute kitchen opening/closing procedures and station maintenance.
- Communicate with FOH to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
Shared Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate teamwork, punctuality, and professional communication.
- Adhere to uniform, grooming, and safety standards at all times.
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings, tastings, and side-work assignments.
- Support in training new hires across both departments once proficient.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in hospitality, café, or kitchen settings preferred.
- Oregon Food Handler’s Card required (or obtained within 30 days).
- OLCC Service Permit required within 45 days if serving alcohol.
- Strong multitasking, time management, and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in high-heat environments.
Compensation & Benefits:

Training & Development:
All Cross-Trained Associates will complete:
- 3-Shift FOH & 3-Shift BOH Shadow Program
- Written Exam (80% minimum) Practical Evaluation
- 90-Day Trial Review based on punctuality, teamwork, and mastery of both sides.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
