Position Information Research Areas: Interns will assist with research projects related to: • Turfgrass cultivar evaluation • Turfgrass management • Soil amendment research • Irrigation and water management studies • Herbicide evaluation trials • Ecosystem services of urban lawns and alternative turf species Responsibilities: Interns will work closely with the research team and assist with day-to-day research activities, including: • Field maintenance of turfgrass research plots • Mowing and general turfgrass management • Data collection and evaluation of field trials • Assisting with greenhouse and laboratory activities as needed Required Qualifications: • B.S. degree (completed or in progress) in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, turfgrass science, or a related field. • Willing to work up to 20 hours per week. • Basic knowledge of turfgrass management practices. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Good written and oral communication skills • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Preferred Qualifications: • Operation and maintenance of turfgrass equipment (e.g., reel mowers, aerifiers, verticutters, sod harvesters) • Installation or maintenance of irrigation systems Additional Requirements: The position requires working in outdoor field environments and may involve travel to off-campus research sites and collaborating institutions.
