This one-year (renewable) position will begin in Fall 2026. The preferred candidate will be capable of teaching courses in early modern literature, Shakespeare, and global Anglophone literature as well as first-year composition. The successful candidate will teach courses in the Core Curriculum and the English major. The base teaching load at A&M-SA is 5/5; however, the successful applicant will teach a 4/4 course load with service expectations. Required Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in English, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of 18 graduate hours in English or related field. A minimum of one year college or university teaching experience. Preferred Education and Experience: Ph.D. in English or related field. Experience teaching early modern English literature and/or global Anglophone literature. Experience teaching first-year composition and university writing courses. Experience teaching dual credit courses and/or experience teaching at a high school. Experience teaching non-traditional, first-generation students. Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems. Recognized professional practice and/or scholarly works in the field of literary studies. Finalists must provide three current, original letters of recommendation to the Search Committee Chair. The letters should be less than one year old and should bear the writer’s actual signature.
