This position works collaboratively with the QEP Leadership Team, the Office of Student Career Preparedness, and campus partners to advance career readiness initiatives that enhance student success and workforce preparation. The Graduate Assistant contributes to communications, student engagement, event coordination, assessment activities, and special projects that support the university’s commitment to developing career-ready graduates. This position provides valuable professional experience in higher education administration, program assessment, marketing, and student success initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the implementation and ongoing support of QEP initiatives and activities. Develop and maintain digital communication materials, including social media content, website updates, newsletters, and promotional campaigns. Support the planning, coordination, and execution of QEP events, workshops, presentations, and student engagement activities. Collect, organize, and analyze assessment data to evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts. Assist with survey development, administration, and reporting using platforms such as Qualtrics and other assessment tools. Prepare reports, presentations, and data visualizations for stakeholders and university leadership. Collaborate with campus partners to promote career readiness initiatives and increase student participation in QEP-related programs. Maintain project records, schedules, and documentation to support QEP operations and reporting requirements. Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, communications, and special projects as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional data and adhere to university policies and professional standards. Required Qualifications Enrollment in a graduate degree program at East Texas A&M University. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct. Preferred Qualifications Experience with digital marketing, social media management, or content creation. Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar platforms. Experience with survey software, assessment processes, or data analysis. Knowledge of Qualtrics, data visualization software, or reporting tools. Interest in student success, career readiness, higher education assessment, or program evaluation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret and communicate data effectively. Strong project management and event coordination abilities. Effective public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Learning Outcomes Through this position, the Graduate Assistant will gain experience in: Higher education assessment and program evaluation. Career readiness programming and student engagement strategies. Marketing, communications, and event management. Data collection, analysis, reporting, and visualization. Cross-functional collaboration and project management within a university setting. All positions are security-sensitive. Must be awarded federal or state work-study through Financial Aid May work up to 19 hours per week during the semester May work full-time during breaks and summer if returning in the fall Must not work during scheduled class times Positions are limited to the amount awarded and must follow program guidelines Graduate assistantships offer opportunities to teach, conduct research, or assist in academic departments while continuing your graduate education. To qualify, students must: Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non-degree) Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles Non-native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency Research assistants must complete Responsible Conduct in Research training Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support For additional assistance or questions regarding your job application, please email HR.StudentHiring@etamu.edu.
