Work Performed: In a faculty position in accounting, the primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses, developing and updating course materials, advising and mentoring students, and assessing student learning. The faculty member will also conduct research in the field of accounting, publish scholarly work, participate in departmental and university service such as committees and curriculum development, and stay current with changes in accounting standards and educational practices. Additionally, they may collaborate with industry and professional organizations to ensure coursework remains relevant and support student career development. Necessary Qualifications: Applicants for the accounting faculty position must hold a doctorate (PHD DBA) in accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution; The candidate should have demonstrated effectiveness in university-level teaching and a documented record of scholarly research or clear potential for research productivity in accounting or a related area. Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to mentor students, and a commitment to foster diversity and inclusion are required. Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA, experience with accounting software and technology, previous university teaching experience, curriculum development expertise, and proficiency in online or hybrid instruction are strongly preferred.
