This is a professional track (non-tenure track) position that will have a nine-month contract with a separate summer contract. The successful applicant will initially teach CIS courses (taught as continuing education/non-credit courses) in an innovative program under a contract between TAMU-CT and the U.S. Army. The successful candidate must be able to teach Programming Logic and Design, Web Site Development, and Java Programming, and other related areas in computer information systems as determined by department needs and individual qualifications. The courses will be delivered face-to-face in 10-week modules. The faculty member will be expected to lead in the conversion of the traditional for credit courses into the 10-week format prior to the fall start date of the program. If any traditional for-credit courses are assigned, they may be in other modalities and delivered on the semester basis. The faculty member will be expected to perform the duties regularly expected of a faculty member, including, but not limited to, meeting their courses as scheduled, holding regular office hours in accordance with program requirements, attending COBA and department meetings, and submitting syllabi and attendance verification on time as appropriate. A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on all new H‑1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, and Texas A&M University–Central Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally, a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026, restricts the filing of new H‑1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. About the College The College of Business Administration enrolls about 1,200 students across three departments: Accounting and Finance, Computer Information Systems, and Management and Marketing. COBA offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, business, computer information systems, computer science, information technology, finance, human resource management, management, and marketing. In addition to the general MBA degree, COBA offers Master of Science degrees in accounting, information systems, and leadership. The CIS department is the fastest growing in COBA and boasts an impressive number of federal contracts and grants. The college is accredited by AACSB. Minimum Requirements Earned M.S. in Information Systems/Computer Science or a closely related degree/area. Must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of Colleges (SACSCOC) credentialing standards, which normally include a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area taught or suitable appropriate justification. The ability to be classified as an Instructional Practitioner (IP) under COBA’s AACSB faculty guidelines.
