As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:
- Treat patients as directed by licensed Occupational therapists
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and team-building approach with all patients, clients, and team members
- Maintain productivity standards as determined by your supervisor and clinical needs
- Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
- Treat patients according to treatment plans
- Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines
- Record daily treatment charges per approved billing guidelines
- Instruct families and nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs as directed by staff therapists
- Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans
- Provide recommendations for home modifications and adaptive equipment with training as needed
- Ensure all treatment delivered is in accordance with the established plan of care
- Monitor patient response to treatment intervention and modify treatment approach and directive as clinically appropriate with IDT collaboration
- Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care is provided
- Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely and complies with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements
- Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures
- Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab
- Associate's degree or greater in Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
