Role Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Upper School mathematics instructor for the 2026-2027 academic year who can teach across the high school curriculum (Algebra 1 through Calculus). Applicants interested in the algebraic sequence and, especially, Geometry are of particular interest. Ideal candidates would be eager to collaborate with colleagues, dedicated to creating student-centered programming (familiarity with Peter Liljedahl’s approaches in Building Thinking Classrooms is an asset), proficient in their discipline, interested in the social and developmental needs of high school students, facile with an iPad, and able to contribute to extracurricular activities. Applicants should possess a bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, and related subjects
- Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development for high school students
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and other facets of school life
- Experience teaching high school students is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire young learners
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Passion for teaching and fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
