Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Refrigeration Technician is to perform daily maintenance and repair the facility refrigeration systems, as well as maintenance of the heating and cooling equipment within the facility, ensuring optimal performance and efficiencies.
SPECIAL TRAINING:
- Ammonia Industrial Refrigeration
- Lockout/Tagout procedures. Confined Space Entry Procedures.
- HAZCOM
- May be required to train on forklift operation.
Requirements:
· High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) is required
· RETA classes Preferred.
· Must be able to cover various shifts as needed.
· Must be able to work overtime as needed.
· Must be able to read and write English.
· Must be able to work in sub-zero environments.
· Must be able to pass refrigeration test with an average of 75% or above.
· Will be working around various chemicals.
· Technical or Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association (RETA) certification preferred.
· HAZMAT certification is preferred.
· Two years previous operating anhydrous ammonia systems and heating and cooling equipment with mechanical and electrical repair experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· Effective communication skills, influential at all levels within the organization.
· Knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA with experience writing PSM and RMP preferred.
· Knowledge of general warehouse practices.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the daily operation of the ammonia refrigeration systems Monitor all ammonia deliveries and respond to all ammonia system alarm calls.
· Repair and maintain refrigeration.
· Complete daily preventive maintenance and reports as tasks are completed.
· Follow through and complete all assigned work orders.
· Conduct tests of safety equipment.
· Inspect refrigeration systems daily to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
· Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and the EPA.
· Operate and maintain all facility heating and air conditioning systems.
· Troubleshoot electrical problems.
· Maintain order and cleanliness of equipment and equipment rooms.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
