Reports To: Director, Public Safety

Summary 

Keeps Authority offices, rest rooms, and buildings clean and orderly by performing a variety of tasks using established procedures, and on an established schedule.  Incumbents shall perform some meeting room set-ups and outdoor cleaning functions.   

Essential Job Functions 

• Perform a variety of daily housekeeping tasks at assigned location 
• Empty waste baskets and replace liners as necessary 
• Dust desks and other furniture 
• Clean floors by vacuuming, dust mop, wet mop, and/or sweep, depending on floor type 
• Clean glass and mirrors 
• Clean break rooms, kitchens, floors, counter tops, table tops, and sinks 
• Clean ranges and refrigerators as needed 
• Clean windows, glass doors and window blinds periodically 
• Clean rest rooms by disinfecting lavatories, toilets, toilet seats & urinals, emptying trash receptacles, mopping, replenishes towels and soap etc. 
• Sweep front and rear office entrances only 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

• Knowledge of the generally accepted methods of commercial cleaning of buildings 
• Knowledge of the products and equipment used in cleaning offices and buildings 
• Knowledge of the safety precautions and procedures associated with commercial cleaning 
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions 
• Ability to use mop, broom, floor cleaning and buffing machine, and other standard tools and equipment used in commercial cleaning 
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, residents, and the general public 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. 

Other: Valid Florida Driver’s License Insurable under the agency’s insurance policy
