Under Muma Children’s Hospital at TGH, the Pediatric Day Hospital (PDH) is a specialized outpatient unit designed to provide children with diagnostic procedures, infusions, and therapeutic services in a comfortable, stress-reducing environment. Operated in collaboration with USF Health, PDH is staffed by board-certified anesthesiologists and pediatric nurses who ensure expert care across a range of services, including EEGs, echocardiograms, IV therapies, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and anesthesia support for imaging and radiation procedures. The hospital’s mission is to deliver high-quality care while minimizing hospital stays and making the healthcare experience easier and more reassuring for children and their families.
Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Critical care experience (PICU/NICU/ED) is preferred.
- Pediatric Experience required.
- Sedation experience and APHON chemotherapy certification preferred.
