Position Summary

We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our integrated healthcare team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, prescribing, and monitoring psychiatric treatment, while collaborating with primary care providers and other specialists to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care. The psychiatrist functions in accordance with TFHC policies and procedures, supporting the mission of a Patient-Centered Medical Home.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic assessment and evaluation of patients with emotional, mental, or behavioral disorders
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians and participate in treatment plan reviews
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
• Make appropriate referrals for testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
• Order and review lab tests and other medical procedures as needed
• Provide effective treatment with the goal of remission of psychiatric symptoms
• Educate patients and families on psychiatric conditions and treatment options
• Participate in Peer Review and Quality Improvement initiatives
• Oversee treatment modalities performed by psychiatrists and other health professionals
• Supervise and teach residents, medical students, and allied health professionals
• Serve patients in a respectful, compassionate manner without imposing personal values

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with specialization in Psychiatry
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry
• Current BLS certification
• Valid State of Florida Medical License
• Valid DEA Registration Certificate
• Ability to maintain hospital privileges at referral hospitals, if required
• Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits for licensure
