What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Tampa Eye Clinic?
Ophthalmic Technician:
Tampa Eye Clinic is a high-volume multi-specialty Ophthalmology practice in the beautiful Tampa Bay area. We are looking for team players with positive energy and experience in general Ophthalmology. Enthusiasm and compassion are a must.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a range of duties which includes preparing the patient for the provider. Preliminary exam, medical history, basic and routine vision screening which includes visual acuity measurement, lensometry, pupillary function, ocular motility, Goldmann applanation tonometry, confrontation visual field testing and manual refraction when warranted by physician. Assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, administering eye medications, documenting patient information with precision and accuracy.
Performs various specialty testing ordered by physicians, such as pachymetry, BAT, VF, OCT, FA, Topography, IOL master, color vision testing, and/or other tests as directed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High School diploma or equivalent, required
· Minimum of one (1) year experience in ophthalmology
· COA or COT certification a plus but not required

· Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
