Position Concept

The Project Coordinator – Environmental supports the integration, implementation, and oversight of Environmental project management practices. Assists in developing communication strategies, procedures, and project-related initiatives to promote effective delivery. Contributes to developing essential deliverables and project plans, aiming to enhance project-level outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction. Responsibilities include crafting communications, preparing presentations, and coordinating project-related events. Supports key project management tasks as needed, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, assisting in risk mitigation, providing progress updates, and assessing the effectiveness of project initiatives.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops solutions to mitigate potential communication risks. Manage project documentation, ensure all relevant information, including correspondence is accessible to stakeholders. Performs ongoing maintenance, storage, and execution of the department’s document management, ensures comprehensive documentation management beyond content creation and distribution.
  • Works closely with team members, and other departments to ensure cohesive communication and effective information sharing within the team. Facilitates the flow of project updates and information, ensures all parties are aligned and informed about project developments and milestones. Acts as the liaison between team and Payroll, Procurement, HR and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitates effective communication with, team members, clients, and partners. Organizes and supports meetings, workshops, and other events.
  • Collaborates with team leads, business stakeholders, and impacted departments to facilitate clear communication and alignment of department objectives. Schedule and organize meetings, prepare agendas, and facilitate discussions. Assists in managing project timelines, tracking action items, ensuring follow-up, assessing team resources, and identifying potential risks or issues to support successful project delivery. Performs special projects as assigned by TEC management. Processes invoices, check requests, creates purchase requisitions and work orders. Payroll and time keeping. Provides technical support utilizing a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and Workman.

Education

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Associate's degree from an accredited university.

Experience

Required: 3 years’ experience in project coordination and communication.

Preferred: Experience in supporting change initiatives, including developing and communicating procedural and curriculum changes. Project management experience, particularly in a utility or highly regulated industry. Experience with building effective communication materials with attention to detail. Experience in developing communications and/or training solutions.

Required: Excellent oral and written communication at all levels of the organization with minimal errors. Builds and maintains strong positive working relationships across all levels of the business.

Preferred: Competent understanding of Tampa Electric’s business and organizational functions. Knowledge of change enablement practices and project management principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional travel and storm restoration overtime is required.

Physical Demands/ Requirements

Must be able to work in dusty, hot and noisy environments
