Tampa Bay Newspapers publishes award-winning weekly newspapers across Pasco, Pinellas, Hernando, and Hillsborough counties. As an independent affiliate of the Tampa Bay Times , our team represents a robust portfolio of print and digital products, including tbt Weekend , Bay Magazine , and a full suite of digital marketing solutions designed to help local businesses grow.
This role offers a unique opportunity to build and own a market. The Media Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business, establishing strong community partnerships, and driving both print and digital revenue in Manatee County - with a primary focus on the launch and success of these new publications. Responsibilities
- Lead advertising sales efforts for the launch and growth of the Manatee County publications
- Identify, prospect, and close new print and digital advertising opportunities
- Build, manage, and grow a book of business within Manatee County
- Develop customized, strategic marketing solutions for local businesses
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business owners and community leaders
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and proactively manage opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute impactful advertising campaigns
- Meet or exceed revenue targets and contribute to overall market growth
- 5 years of media sales or related advertising experience
- Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
- Valid driver’s license required
