Tampa Bay Sun FC is looking for a Soccer Operations Manager to assist the Head of Soccer Operations with all related logistics, planning, and day to day operations of the Sporting Department.
The Role is an on-site and will require travel to away matches.
Position Summary
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Soccer Operations on travel logistics and operations for all home and away matches.
- Coordinating hotel accommodations with host team hotel partners.
- Working with travel partners for all airfare to away games - includes collecting all player passport/contact information in pre-season, coordinating name change requests using the league process and ensuring travel itineraries are in line with the wishes of the technical staff.
- Working with the host team’s transportation partner to coordinate ground transportation for all away matches, including transport to/from hotel/airport/stadium.
- Coordinate with the club’s transportation partner for all transport arrangements from the club’s training facility to Tampa International Airport and Suncoast Credit Union Field.
- Coordinate with opposing Team Managers for on the ground logistics with the game day and run of show.
- Assist in ensuring players and technical staff adhere to run of show timelines.
- Assist players and players families with game day requests.
- Sourcing and coordinating catering for all team meals - in conjunction with the Performance Coach for nutritional requirements - Adhere to budget as directed by the Head of Soccer Operations.
- Work in conjunction with the Performance Coach to ensure all catering needs are met for the team during the season.
- Weekly runs to replenish supplies needed at the training facility.
- Manage players on/off-boarding at the beginning and end of the season, including apartment move-in/move-out.
- Coordinate with the Head of Soccer Operations on apartment needs and room assignments during the season and in the off-season for Tampa Bay Sun FC players.
- Support the Head of Soccer Operations with player welfare including player onboarding.
- Assist the Head of Soccer Operations with day-to-day tasks of player registration.
- Maintain and update Teamworks as needed with weekly training schedule, away trips, and player appearances.
- Lead the coordination of player appearances with internal front office departments and communication to players.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role required, soccer or professional sports experience, preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in sport management, event management, business administration or related field required or equivalent professional work experience and/or combination of both work experience and education.
- Organized & autonomous work habits, both independently, and within a team setting.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations while remaining adaptable.
- Ability to institute & maintain all necessary safety/health protocols, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience at all associated events.
- Understanding of budget-management and financial reporting.
- Capacity to improve operations and general logistics in an effort to drive efficiency and limit overall expenses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
- Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
- Must have U.S. work authorization.
- Must be able to pass all background and safeguarding checks.
