What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at Tampa Bay Sun FC?
Responsibilities
- Mowing, trimming, weeding, and general maintenance of natural grass and athletic turf
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of both natural grass and artificial turf playing surfaces, including field painting, lining, divot repair, and turf care.
- Assist with field preparation for matches, training sessions, tournaments, and special events.
- Operate hand tools and powered equipment safely and effectively.
- Operate various turf and landscape maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and utility vehicles.
- Assist with general groundskeeping tasks including debris removal, edging, and landscape upkeep.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of basic landscaping and grounds maintenance procedures, including the safe use of equipment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision at times.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, time management, organization, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in sports turf, landscaping, groundskeeping, or athletics field maintenance preferred but not required.
