Description: The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking a driven individual with movement expertise and baseball knowledge to join our Strength & Conditioning staff. This full-time role will contribute to our departmental goals to optimize physical preparation, build resilience, and minimize injury risk. The individual will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals including field staff, medical, nutrition, mental health and performance, and performance science. This role will be based out of our Player Development Complex in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Responsibilities
- Implement and execute Rays strength and conditioning programming with the assigned team, with an astute ability to tailor program needs to individual athlete demands
- Conduct organizational physical assessments at various checkpoints pre-, mid-, and post-season
- Facilitate initiatives from, and collaborate effectively with, various members of the health and performance team, including but not limited to athletic training, performance science, nutrition, mental health and performance, and our team physicians
- Communicate regularly with the coaching staff, leadership, and department staff
- Demonstrate empathy and adaptability, working with athletes from various backgrounds and English language proficiency
- Assist with testing and assessments throughout the course of the season
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized weight room at all times
- Travel with the assigned team for away games throughout the season
- Document athlete workload and create appropriate reports
- Contribute to individual and organizational continuing education efforts
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) licensure
- Minimum of two years of experience in a high-performance environment, including collegiate or elite level sports
- Demonstrated understanding of the physical demands within baseball; explicit baseball experience highly preferred
- Familiarity with workload management systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays in line with the baseball schedule
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
- Experience with Performance Science (CPSS) preferred but not required
