The Director of Security for Tropicana Field and Al Lang Stadium is responsible for leading event and non event security and risk management services by planning, monitoring, directing and managing all functions
of the security department for the two venues. This position will liaison with other leadership members to
ensure the safety and security of our employees, guests, venues and organization .

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee security at Tropicana Field, home of the Rays and Al Lang Stadium, home of the Rowdies.
- Secure and maintain the safety of our employees, guests and assets. Analyze recommendations on security systems and policies to include emerging technologies while ensuring the venues are industry leaders in venue safety.
- Oversees and approves security staffing plans to ensure a safe and courteous experience for our guests. Recommends strategies to balance clients wants with guests needs and venues objectives. Ensures that staffing plan balances a high level of service delivery with efficiencies for savings.
- In collaboration with administration plans, submits, and oversees security budget for both venues. Ensures department expenses are allocated appropriately and keeps these expenses within operating budgets and event estimates.
- At times act as a building manager on duty for the venues. Oversee event logistics ensuring priorities in decision making are based on safety. Respond immediately in the event of an emergency to make key decisions and communicate with leadership and staff in emergency situations.
- Plan lead and participate in operational meetings to best communicate with other departments, entities and clients to achieve venues goals and objectives.
- Responsible for working directly with and overseeing current third party security provider, negotiating contracts and implementing new security systems and procedures.
- Champion, communicate and take ownership of the security strategy and success within each venue.
- Monitor and assess potential threats and their potential impact and possible losses while developing security procedures to mitigate and reduce losses.
- Manage and implement crisis management programs and recovery plans for each venue.
- Main security contact and liaison with local and federal law enforcement on behalf of venues.
- Main security contact and liaison with Major League Baseball security and ballpark operations departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 5 years plus security or law enforcement experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and recognizing problems and finding solutions.
- Experience overseeing groups or departments consisting of many full and part time security staff.
- Ability to work long hours with a varied schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
