What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camera Operator position at Tampa Bay Rays?
A Camera Operator for the Tampa Bay Rays is a game day position that works as a part of Raysvision to execute the in-house shows during all Tampa Bay Rays home games. The Camera Operator is responsible for running a broadcast/ENG camera while covering the game action assigned to their specific camera position. The Camera Operator plays a key role in enhancing the game day experience for fans. The incumbent must be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced environment wherein critical thinking and the ability to effectively follow direction are essential.

- Attend and contribute to pre-production meetings each game
- Work with the game day Director, Technical Director and Shader to fax out cameras
- Run-through and get comfortable with all camera controls/specific camera position responsibilities
- Maintain situational awareness during the entire game and inning breaks
- Follow leads from game day Director and Producer
- Work with the control room team to execute high quality shows
- Working knowledge of broadcast/ENG cameras
- Provide general support to the Game Presentation Department
- Other duties as assigned
- Prior experience with live sports productions
- Experience operating a broadcast/ENG camera
- Experience operating a RONIN camera a plus, but not required
- Willingness to operate a wireless/handheld camera
- Ability to interact with Tampa Bay Rays fans
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work the entire event including pre- and post-game activities
- Knowledge of MLB rules and very strong understanding of baseball
- Works well in fast-paced/live event, high pressure situations
- Act as a role model within and outside the Rays Organization
- Adhere to Rays Organization Policies and Procedures
