Position Description
The Network Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining, and supporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers network infrastructure. This position ensures the availability, performance, and security of the organization’s LAN, WAN, and wireless systems across all facilities — including Advent Health Training Facility and Raymond James Stadium. The Network Operations Specialist supports game day operations, broadcast connectivity, and the organization’s overall technology strategy.

Essential Functions
  • Knowledge and experience installing fiber, and structured cabling.
  • Support and monitor High-Density AP wireless network.
  • Monitor network environments using network management and monitoring tools to ensure availability and performance.
  • Respond to alerts, outages, and performance degradation incidents in real time.
  • Perform initial triage, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for network-related issues.
  • Serve as a key technical responder during high-visibility events, including game days and events.
  • Execute approved network changes, including VLAN modifications, port configurations, routing updates, and wireless adjustments.
  • Support LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and VoIP network services.
  • Assist with firewall rule requests and basic security operations following established change and security policies.
  • Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams during incidents and maintenance windows.
  • Provide operational network support for ticketing systems, POS systems, broadcast/AV connectivity, security systems, and Wi-Fi.
Management Responsibilities
This position does not manage employees.
Employee is expected to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Participate in pre-event readiness checks and post-event reviews.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned to improve future response.
  • Assist in refining monitoring thresholds, alerting, and escalation procedures.
  • Support change management and compliance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve network stability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Experience & Education
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise or large-scale network environments.
  • Network Certification desired
  • Experience in high-availability or event-driven environments preferred (stadium, venue, broadcast, or hospitality).
  • Knowledge and experience in installing fiber and structured cabling,
Technical Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or comparable tools
Skilled in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
Comfortable learning and navigating new systems or applications
Experience using collaboration platforms such as Teams, Zoom, or similar
Able to input, track, and analyze data accurately
Understanding of document management and version control
Familiarity with web-based systems, portals, and online workflows
Knowledge of data security and confidentiality practices
Comfortable adapting to technology updates and new digital processes
Familiarity with web-based systems, portals, and online workflows

Additional Technical Knowledge
  • Experience deploying and maintaining high-density Wi-Fi networks for public venues or stadiums.
  • Knowledge of RF site surveys, signal optimization, and wireless controller management.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, Syslog, and automated alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
  • Understanding of Azure and AWS networking (VNETs, routing tables, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway).
  • Experience with virtual network appliances, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix and virtual switching technologies.
  • Knowledge of fiber, structured cabling, and network design for media transmission.
Work Environment
Extended evening, weekend work hours sometimes required
Required to work all home games
May have to work occasional holidays
Stressful and demanding work environment in executing work on short deadlines
Must be comfortable working in a high intensity setting, meeting tight deadlines and delivering quality results
Required to drive company vehicle, personal vehicle, or golf cart

Physical Fitness Standards
Sitting, standing, working with hands for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 20 – 50 pounds
Must be able to perform occasional physical tasks, which may include working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and kneel
Ability to push and pull objects weighing over 20 pounds
Ability to move equipment or materials as required
Ability to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, or technology (including but not limited to heavy machinery, forklifts, golf carts, vehicles)
Ability to work in noisy environments
Ability to climb stairs
