Assistant Mechanic-Golf Course

JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Assistant Mechanic Is to assist with a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. Tasks include but are not exclusive to: repair and maintenance of all equipment, assistance with orders for parts and supplies for equipment service, maintenance of a clean service area and safe maintenance shop, and adherence to Club’s policies, protocols, and safety compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all golf course equipment, golf carts, and property vehicles

· Operate diagnostic and repair tools

· Repair all small equipment, e.g., push mowers, string trimmers, hand blowers

· Operate all golf course equipment and assists with golf course maintenance related tasks when needed

· Work proactively relative to equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize equipment downtime and loss of productivity

· Proficient in diagnosing and repairing engines

· Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work relative to golf course operations

· Assist with maintaining inventory of shelf stock of repair parts, nuts and bolts, belts, and hoses

· Maintain a clean, organized work environment inside and outside

· Adjust mowers correctly to the Head Mechanic's and Superintendent's standards

· Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures

• Adhere to all company and departmental guidelines

· Report any hazards, injuries, and safety concerns to supervisor immediately

· Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor

· Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all Interactions

· Take ownership of all guest requests and be proactive in ensuring resolution as needed

· Always maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed

· Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication

· Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position

· Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests

· Adhere to all Tamarisk Country Club policies and procedures

· Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Knowledge of golf course maintenance.

· Previous experience in automotive, small engine repair, gas and diesel helpful

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Ability to follow oral and written directions.

· Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously ensuring on-time delivery of quality work.

· Willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance programs.

· A team player with the ability to adapt to a variety of situations and work effectively with all departments.

· Conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner.

· Enthusiastic and positive energy.
