Bus Driver | Care Center | PRN

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Safely operate a facility-owned bus or van in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
• Transport residents to scheduled appointments, outings, and events in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle at all times.
• Monitor and support the comfort and safety of residents during transit.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and resident attendance records.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and other departments regarding resident transportation needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service with empathy and respect for elderly and disabled individuals.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience transporting seniors or working in a healthcare or long-term care environment is a plus.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

• Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policy

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Weight to be lifted or forced up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, and pull.
