Dishwasher | Nutrition Services | Full or Part Time

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment properly and safely.
• Wash, sanitize, and restock clean dishes supplies and cookware to designated area.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, carts, dish room and break area.
• Mop floors as assigned in dish room and break area.
• Retrieve hospital meal carts from the Med-Surg unit and clean carts and dishware.
• Separate, handle, and dispose of food waste following hospital and safety protocols.
• Follow infection control and food safety standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to a supervisor.
• Disposes of garbage, recycling, and cardboard in appropriate manner and as needed.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
• Practices proper handwashing techniques.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous dishwasher, food service, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

• Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized time system correctly

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps and the like
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and /or kitchen tools.
• Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly as required.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions

• Tolerance for heat, moisture, and cleaning chemicals
• High temperatures
• Noisy environment
