Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provides care appropriate to condition, age and ability, the psychosocial and physical needs of patient, including adult, pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population within the CNA’s scope of practice and hospital
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode and ambulating
• Takes and records vital signs, weight, intake-output and reports to RN or
• Enters and verifies patient data in the EMR system per current standards and
• Maintains equipment, utility areas and support areas in a clean and neat environment. Manages and operates equipment safely and
• Restocks and orders supplies as
• Answers telephone/intercom in a polite Communicates information to the appropriate personnel/family.
• Schedules surgeries, diagnostic tests and appointments as
• Assists with patient admissions, discharge, and
• Observes patient’s mental and physical conditions, reports any changes or complaints to

Education/Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Completion of CNA courses and current Wisconsin CNA Registry required
• BLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care, must be obtained with 30 days of start date

• Must work primarily indoors
• Frequent exposure to products containing latex; working with VDT’s (video display terminals), dust, fumes,

infectious disease; continuous exposure to blood/body fluids and sharp objects
