What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician | Building Operations | Full-Time position at Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center?
The Electrician has a thorough knowledge of electrical repair and installation, along with mechanical knowledge which he/she uses to service the hospital facility. The Electrician is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, routine repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment (high and low voltage), such as, but not limited to the following: normal electrical systems and equipment; emergency electrical systems and equipment including emergency generators; equipment repairs involving electrical motors and components; fire alarm/detection systems; security camera and other communication systems and equipment; building security, access and alarm systems.
Duties:
- Ability to install, repair and complete scheduled preventive maintenance of normal and emergency electrical equipment and systems.
- Must have computer skills consistent with electrician position and ability to read building blueprints and machine schematics and use organizational email, training systems and portal.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Must be skilled at independent problem-solving.
- Must role model customer service skills for internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts as required.
- Must be able to be on call per the Building Operations department call policy
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; to adapt to frequent changes and interruptions; and to be able to meet necessary deadlines.
Education/Requirements:
- Journeyman Electrician certification with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment, required.
