Job Summary
• Sweep, mop, scrub and apply floor finish, dust, wash, finish or polish furniture and wood surface • Empty and clean waste receptacles, wash windows and walls, clean restrooms • Pick up and dispose of debris; sweep/rake sidewalks and parking areas, move and arrange furniture and equipment. • Polish metalwork; replace fluorescent tubes and light bulbs Replenish restroom and custodian supplies, receive and store supplies • Turn on/off lights, unlock/lock doors and windows; report the need for repairs Observe building activities to prevent vandalism, ensuring building security Operate power-cleaning equipment • May operate and clean low pressure heating systems May train and supervise student aides • Assist with emergency cleaning to preserve health and safety Remove and/or paint over graffiti • Assemble new furniture as time allows
