Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Ariba Functional Implementation Specialist to support the continued implementation and optimization of SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing for a large manufacturing organization.

This individual will work closely with Procurement leadership, Finance, IT, and external implementation partners to complete remaining functional implementation activities, improve procurement workflows, and drive successful adoption of SAP Ariba across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on functional consultant with strong procure-to-pay experience who can bridge the gap between technical implementation teams and business users. This role requires someone who can not only support system functionality and configuration but also train users, develop documentation, and establish sustainable business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and optimization of SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, including functional configuration, requirements gathering, testing, and rollout activities.
• Evaluate existing SAP Ariba functionality, identify gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with business requirements.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance/AP, IT, and implementation partners to streamline procure-to-pay processes.
• Support purchasing workflows, guided buying, approval routing, purchase orders, supplier processes, and invoicing.
• Translate business requirements into functional solutions and assist with troubleshooting configuration and workflow issues.
• Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live preparation, and post-go-live support.
• Develop and deliver end-user training to improve system adoption and operational efficiency.
• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, process documentation, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Provide ongoing functional guidance to Procurement stakeholders and support the transition to internal system ownership.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on functional implementation experience with SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing.
• Strong understanding of indirect procurement and procure-to-pay (P2P) business processes.
• Experience with SAP Ariba functional configuration, purchasing workflows, approvals, and invoice management.
• Experience supporting implementation lifecycles, including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Demonstrated experience training business users, driving system adoption, and developing process documentation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite in Libertyville, IL, approximately three days per week.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of SAP Ariba functional implementation experience.
• Experience supporting multiple SAP Ariba implementations or major rollouts.
• Experience optimizing existing SAP Ariba environments and improving user adoption.
• Familiarity with SAP ECC or S/4HANA integrations.
• Previous experience supporting manufacturing or enterprise procurement environments.
• Experience with change management, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support.
  
  

Additional Information

This is a hybrid contract opportunity requiring approximately three days onsite per week in Libertyville, Illinois, with some scheduling flexibility.

The engagement is expected to run through October 2027, with an immediate start preferred.

Pay: $65 to $75 per hour
