JOB DESCRIPTION About The Team
The Forecasting & Business Insights team is a high-visibility unit within Strategic Finance, currently composed of four members. We serve as the primary engine for gross merchandise sales forecasting, competitive intelligence, and external financial reporting.

The Forecasting & Business Insights team is a high-visibility unit within Strategic Finance, currently composed of four members. We serve as the primary engine for gross merchandise sales forecasting, competitive intelligence, and external financial reporting.
Our Work Is Organized Into Three Core Pillars
- Predictive Forecasting: Develop and maintain data-driven time series models using SQL, Python, and BigQuery to guide company-wide budgeting and planning.
- External Reporting: Provide the analytical backbone for SEC filings, earnings presentations, and investor communications to convey company performance to stakeholders.
- Business Intelligence: Translate complex datasets into actionable insights via Looker and Google Sheets to support senior management and board-level decision-making.
- Querying & Insight Generation: Independently write high-performance SQL to extract insights from GCP/BigQuery datasets. Potential areas of focus include user behavior, marketplace trends, and business performance.
- Dashboarding & Visualization: Design, build, and maintain dashboards in Looker or similar tools that empower stakeholders with self-service data access.
- Strategic Project Support: Partner with the Forecasting & Business Insights team on high-priority business cases and open-ended questions.
- Data Storytelling: Present findings clearly and concisely, turning complex statistical results into actionable narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a data-heavy role, preferably within a two-sided marketplace, e-commerce, or B2C tech company, working with financial, operational, or marketplace data.
- Strong experience with SQL, Google Sheets, and Git.
- Proven ability to build automated, executive-facing dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
- Ability to translate complex datasets into concise, actionable summaries for stakeholders making fast, high-stakes decisions.
- Proficiency in Python or R for advanced data analysis.
