About the Team
Talos Engineering’s New Product Development team is made up of dedicated and passionate individuals who take pride in the equipment design. Egos are left at the door, which allows for fun and creative problem solving. We work both independently and as a group. We gladly help each other out when a team member is in need.
About the Role
Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing projects to deliver expected results. You will be relied on to manage new products through their development life cycle. You will work with internal and external resources to maintain schedules and support product release.
In this role, you will…
· Design and develop new and innovative products to meet business initiatives.
· Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products.
· Create designs in 2D and 3D design details using CAD software.
· Create and manage detailed project plan for new product development.
· Work with cross functional team to execute product development project plans.
· Meet regularly with cross functional team to ensure customer/business expectations are met. This includes Manufacturing, Purchasing, Business Development, and Finance teams.
· Regularly report project status to stake holder/leadership team.
· Coordinate product release to internal business units.
· Support product development in designing and testing products.
Requirements
We’re excited about you because you…
· Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
· Have Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault.
· Are able to effectively use Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project etc.).
· Have prior experience with product/project management.
· Are familiar with ERP systems.
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Have the ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced cross functional team.
· Are enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of serving a diverse range of users.
· Can speak and write clearly and accurately.
· Have knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
· Have the ability to meet deadlines, even if it requires extra hours.
· Possess multi-tasking capabilities.
