PLC Programmer

Talos are looking for PLC Programmers for a direct hire opportunity in Wixom.

The PLC Programmers will be programming, debugging, and starting up systems primarily on automotive projects throughout North America. This position will require up to 70-80% travel at points in the year, depending on project demand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with mechanical engineering, controls engineering, and skilled trades teams throughout all phases of automation projects
2. Develop and implement PLC logic during system build and debug at customer sites
3. Apply updates and enhancements to control logic based on customer change requests and process improvement opportunities.
4. Troubleshoot and verify I/O functionality, confirm safety and interference zones, and maintain thorough documentation of all programming changes in collaboration with the engineering team.
5. Conduct on-site end-user training and deliver effective, solutions-oriented technical support

Qualifications

1. At least 3 years of experience in PLC programming and system commissioning.
2. Experience working with Allen Bradley PLC. Siemens PLC is a bonus
3. Strong capability in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and system diagrams.
4. Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
5. Troubleshooting skills for PLC systems and related electrical/mechanical issues.
6. Knowledge of servo motors, stepper motors, and AC drive systems.
7. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency preferred.
8. Multilingual ability (Chinese, Spanish, or German) is highly advantageous.
