Automation Specialist (Robotics Engineer)
My client is an experienced turn-key systems builder and integrator of both flexible and dedicated automation. Our highly skilled team has experience in the design and manufacturing of GMAW Robot cells, Resistance welding cells, complex material handling cells, automated assembly cells, and testing systems.
We are an innovative company seeking a dedicated Automation Specialist to join our talented team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in automation and integration, and a passion for working on advanced technologies. You will play a crucial role in applying your expertise in automation to design and build products and projects that meet customer specifications and improve operational efficiency.
As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, editing, and manipulating robot programs, including ladder logic, as part of our design and build processes. You will also integrate robots, power sources, and peripherals into our systems while working closely with other teams to ensure project success. This role will involve acting as a key resource for automation information and continuously seeking ways to improve machine operations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Robot Program Development: Develop new, edit, and manipulate robot programs, including ladder logic, to enhance product functionality and performance.
- System Integration: Integrate robots, power sources, and other peripherals into their systems, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with specifications.
- Collaboration and Support: Act as a resource for automation-related information, providing support to service technicians, machine builders, and customers.
- Customer Specifications: Collaborate with project coordinators and the plant manager to review and understand customer specifications to ensure automation solutions meet requirements.
- Customer Site Travel: Some travel to customer sites as required to perform installations, troubleshooting, repair functions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Machine Operation Improvement: Assess machine operations, identify potential improvements, and implement strategies to optimize performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automation, robotics, and system integration, with a focus on industrial applications.
- Strong proficiency in robot programming and ladder logic.
- Experience integrating robots and peripherals into automated systems.
- Ability to interpret and understand customer specifications and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Strong communication skills to provide support and training to internal teams and customers.
- Familiarity with the operation of automated machinery and a keen eye for operational improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot automation issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Automation, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Additional:
- Compensation - $75K - $90K (depending on experience) benefits OT
- Travel - 15% - 20%
- 2 - 5 years robotics experience (Fanuc would be a bonus but not essential)
- MIG welding experience would be a bonus (but not essential)
- Vision experience would be a bonus (but not essential)

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
